Liberated Quilt Making

Liberated Quiltmaking
Taught by Janet Root

Here is a fun and funky quilt made with no templates, no measuring, and only one construction rule. Fabrics left over from other projects are good choices for this one, and they don’t even have to go together. We’ll design and sew quickly to make houses, trees, log cabin and star blocks. Then you arrange your blocks into whatever configuration you desire. Everyone’s quilt is different! Frame it all with a border or two, plain or pieced. See a larger image of the wall hanging.

Circles are cut from those fabrics and appliquéd onto simply pieced background squares. Then the squares are placed so that values are connected and flow through the quilt. Jam And Jelly

Jam and Jelly
Taught by Janet Root

This traditional quilt is made up of two easy blocks set on point.  It is a very easy quilt to make, yet looks more complicated than it is.  The more fabrics you use, the more interesting the quilt and the more fun the piecing process!  The pattern was designed by Christiane Meunier and published in Quilting Today Magazine.  It is used with her permission.  I have sized it so you can choose any size from crib to king. See a larger image of the quilt.
